Clifton M. Grimes, 74, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016. Visitation will be all day Friday, September 30, 2016 at the funeral home with family present 6-8 p.m. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Wilmeth Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Clifton was born on January 17, 1942 to Lewis M. and Erma Inez Bush Grimes in Colquit, Miller, Georgia. He graduated form Zephyrhills High School in 1959. He joined the Army and served in South Korea. He worked as a corrections officer for the State of Florida until he decided to change occupations. He was a central office equipment installer for fifteen years with Automatic Electric. He was transferred to GTE of Florida in 1979 where he worked until he retired. He moved to Texas in 2005 and found a home in Wilmeth, TX where he leaves behind many loved friends and neighbors.
Clifton is survived by his brother, Jerry D. Grimes of Le Canto, FL; sister, Mary K. Lewis and husband James; nephews, Shane Grimes, Troy Lewis, Mark Lewis and John Lewis; nieces, Joy Lewis and Angela Thomas; six great nephews and three favored great nieces.
