Obituary for Joshua Douglas Woods

Joshua Douglas Woods
Joshua Woods, 35, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 18, 2018 after a long, hard fight with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 22,2018 at PaulAnn Baptist Church located on 2531 Smith Blvd. in San Angelo, Texas. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
Josh was born on August 24, 1982 in Austin, Texas to Dennis Woods and Patricia White Woods.
When they made Josh, they made a miracle. He was loved by all. We have not only lost our husband, Daddy, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin, but our best friend.
Josh worked as a police officer for a couple of years and loved every moment of it. Before Josh got sick again with cancer, he worked for many years at Morrison Supply where he met, not only friends, but family.
In his spare time Josh enjoyed just being with his wife and kids. He wanted to be with them all the time. He also absolutely loved to fish. He loved to go to the beach in Port Aransas and fish and go deep sea fishing.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Newell White and his paternal grandfather, William (Bill) Woods.
Josh is survived by his loving wife of 8 ½ years, Brandi Smith Woods of San Angelo; twin sons, Colton Woods and Ryder Woods of the home; parents, Dennis Woods and Patricia (Patti) White Woods of Liberty Hill; brother, DJ Woods and wife Krista of Cedar Park; sister, Katy Woods-Teel and husband James of Cedar Park; maternal grandmother, Lorene White of Georgetown; paternal grandmother, Bobbie Woods of Cedar Park; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tim and Tracey Smith of Monahans; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bradley and Britany Smith of Lubbock, nephews, Sean and Jacob Woods and Joshua James (JJ) Teel of Cedar Park; nieces Kynlie and Kambrie Smith of Lubbock. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and well-loved friends.
The family request in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Paul Ann Baptist Church Children’s Ministry/Building funds in honor of his name. Address is 2531 Smith Blvd. San Angelo, TX 76905.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to everyone who has reached out to Josh and our family during this time.
