Vivian Wuertenburg, 88, peacefully joined her father, mother and family members on December 7, 2017.
Vivian was born on May 11, 1929 in San Angelo, Texas to Nestor and Lola Wuertenburg. She is survived by her brother Richard Wuertenburg, daughters Linda Lugo, Patricia (Pat) Gates, Elizabeth (Liz) Valadez and son George Valadez and wife, Dorothy. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and was to be blessed with her first great, great-grandchild in January 2018.
Vivian was a hard-working woman and did everything she could to provide for her family. She managed to hold down several jobs at a time for many, many years. Vivian worked at Ethicon for almost 25 years until retirement. She also waited tables at Ricardo’s after she got off of work from Ethicon. She took great pride in caring for her “guests” and took care of them in the best possible way! Her passion for providing great service was evident. Family gatherings were the highlight of her life. Celebrating with her sisters and brothers, along with nieces and nephews, was something Vivian enjoyed tremendously! Late nights, playing cards with great friends and family, especially during the holidays, was a joy for her. Vivian greatly enjoyed watching tennis and golf in her spare time.
Visitation will be held all day Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Shaffer Funeral home, 1939 Sherwood Way, San Angelo, Texas 76901. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with a rosary being read. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
