Obituary for Jerry Oather Bannister

Jerry O. Bannister, 80, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Water Valley Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home/Grape Creek.
Jerry was born to R. O. and Edith Howard Bannister on March 16, 1937 in Water Valley, Texas. He truly loved Water Valley and it remained his home his entire life. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his life, Jerry was employed as a dozer operator, a butcher and a maintenance mechanic but, his true passion was always a sheep rancher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dewey Bannister.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Jessie (Johnson) Bannister; daughters, Jayne Bannister, Jo Johnson and husband Jerry and Jeanine Cason and husband Shawn; son, Jerry Lynn Bannister; sisters, Jo Beth Vanzant and husband Eddie and Nona Williams and husband Jerry; five granddaughters; one grandson; five great grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.
