Obituary for Nanney (Nancy) Susan Scott

Nanney (Nancy) Susan Scott
Nanney (Nancy) Susan Scott, a wife, a mother, grandmother, niece, sister and friend, went home to be with our Lord and Savior February 16, 2017 after a year and a half long battle with cancer, at home surrounded by the love of her family.
Nancy is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Charles Shay Scott of San Angelo, Texas; her daughter, Heather Scott and son-in-law and daughter, Daniel and Cassie Bond of San Angelo, Texas; her brother and his wife, Michael and Cathy Caleo of Norfolk, Virginia; her mother and father-in-law, Patricia and James Scott of San Antonio, Texas; five granddaughters, Alyssa, Aleah, Breah, Tyleigh, and Jacey; and two grandsons, Anthony Carrasco and Chase Huebner. She is also survived by many friends, family and coworkers, simply too many to list.
She is predeceased by her brother, Tazwell Caleo of Norfolk, Virginia; and beloved and only son, Taylor Shay Scott, 26, of San Angelo, Texas
Nancy was born in Newport News, Virginia on August 5, 1954 to Anthony and Lera Caleo. There, she met the love of her life, Shay on November 25, 1974 and she always told us that it was love at first sight, she knew he was her soulmate. On June 30th, February 20th and January 18th respectively, she welcomed her two beautiful daughters and lastly, her son, Taylor.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed at the Mertzon Post Office in Mertzon, Texas and truly enjoyed her job and the many friends she made there. She loved spending time with her family. On Sundays, she really enjoyed floating the river with her family and all the grandkids. She took a lot of pride in her home and the cleanliness of it. She was a Christian and a firm believer in Jesus Christ. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Shaffer Funeral Home’s Sherwood Way Chapel. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
