Obituary for Alonzo Leroy Kelly Jr.

A.L. (Buddy) Kelly, Jr., of Blackwell, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 31, 2016 after a long and hard fought battle with illness. He was surrounded by his family and many friends. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2017 at Bronte Church of Christ. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2016 at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton, TX. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Buddy was born August 13, 1936 in Crowell, TX. After a couple of tours serving our country in Korea he met the love of his life, Barbara Sue Brewer who joined him in marriage on February 4, 1962. They shared their fiftieth anniversary before her passing on April 9, 2012. He retired from Southwestern Public Service after thirty-five and a half years. Mom and Dad shared a wonderful retirement with Christ.
He is survived by his son, Greg Kelly and wife Diane; grandson, Benjamin Kelly all of Edgewood, New Mexico. He is also survived by his sisters, Noma Watson and Beverly Glover.
