Floyd Quitman Sheppard, 86 passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016. Visitation will be held all day Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the funeral home with family present 6-7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in Robert Lee Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral home/Sherwood Way.
Floyd was born on November 23, 1929 to A.B. and Pearl (McCabe) Sheppard in Robert Lee, Texas. He married the love of his life, Billie Virginia McDaniel on October 26, 1973. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and was in the Air Force Civil Service from 1956-1988. Floyd loved people and never met a stranger, all of his life was about taking care of others including his large family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. Sheppard and Pearl McCabe Sheppard; sister, Sarah Lou McGuyre; stepson, Duane McDaniel; grandson, Derek Sheppard.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Billie Sheppard; children, Valori Wilson, David Sheppard and wife Lisa, Dana Sheppard; step children, John McDaniel, Mary “Kathy” Trower and Lynn McDaniel; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
