Charlene Corfield Obituary
Charlene Louise Corfield, 77 years old of San Angelo, Texas peacefully went home to be with
her Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 24th.
There will be no visitation. A service celebrating her life will be on Monday, September 26th at
4pm at College Hills Baptist Church. It will be officiated by her grandsoninlaw
Kevin Jordan.
Services will be under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood way.
Charlene Corfield was born on March 24, 1939 to Charles and Clara Hepner of Cleveland, Ohio.
She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and Weedsport, New York. She married the love of her life
Glenn Corfield in 1954 and together raised 7 children, 6 boys and 1 girl.
They raised their family in Central New York before moving to Texas to finish her career in
nursing. She had the privilege of traveling home & abroad and saw many things.
She was a woman of faith and lived her faith even to the last moments. She was active in her
life and community serving in many different organizations. She was a volunteer at Community
Medical Center, a member of the New Timers Club, First Methodist Church Cokesberry Singers,
and Harmony Belles. She was also a member of the Christian Village Handbell Choir. She and
Glenn were avid square dancers with the Concho Squares where they served on the State
Square Dance Council. She was also active in College Hills Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn Corfield, mother and father Clara Lundberg,
and Charles Hepner, stepfather
Harold Lundberg, and sister Beverly Fitzgerald all of New York.
She is survived by her children Dale Corfield and wife Carolyn of Lewisville, Texas, Terry
Corfield of San Angelo, Texas, Charles Corfield and wife Debbie of San Angelo, Texas, Jeff
Corfield of Baldwinsville, New York, Michael Corfield of Baldwinsville, New York, Karen Cross
and husband Philip of San Angelo, Texas, and Rodger Corfield and wife Paula of China Spring,
Texas. She is also survived by 17 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, and many Cousins,
Great Nieces and Nephews.
With many Cancer survivors in her family, the family requests donations be made to the
American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
