Anthony Michael Martinez was born September 30, 1987 in San Angelo, Texas to Tony Martinez and Tessie Moya. He went to live in the House of the Lord, Monday, September 12, 2016. Visitation will be held all day Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the funeral home with family present 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2016 at The Garden Gathering Church. Pallbearers will be Christopher Martinez, Brandon Gonzales, Ricky Gonzales, Jonathan Reyna, Moses Moya and Ryan Daigle. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/ Sherwood Way.
Anthony is preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, Josepha and Nazario Lara, grandfather Abraham Moya Sr. and his paternal great grandfather Nacho T. Lopez.
He is survived by his Mother, Tessie Teague, his Stepfather, Quinn Teague, his two sisters, Candace Martinez and Mariah Martinez, his two daughters, Aiden and Mia Martinez, his significant other, Neyva Mota, his grandmother Elodia Lara Moya, his aunt and uncles, Iris Bautista and her husband David Bautista, Moses Moya, and Abraham Moya Jr, one niece Emalyn Presley Daigle, and one nephew Jayden Pacheco. He is also survived by his Father, Tony Martinez, his paternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Jesse Martinez, uncles, Christopher Martinez and his wife Kim, Jesse Martinez, and his wife Tina, and Glenn Paiz. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, friends, and family.
He attended Alta Loma, Goliad, and Holiman Elementary schools, Lincoln Jr. High, and graduated from Lake View in 2006. He attended Howard College, and had a welding trade, and a CDL. He recently worked at Mrs. Rios Corn Products as a Truck Driver. He also worked at Lone Star Beef, Pak Quality Foods, and Coca Cola.
Anthony was a gentle loving soul. He was full of life. He didn’t know a stranger. He would give you the shirt off his back. His daughters were his heart. He was loyal, trustworthy, kind, and had a big heart. He impacted many lives with his infectious smile and laughter. He will forever be in our hearts.
He read his favorite scripture to his girls at night, Psalms 23:1-6.
Psalms 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Until we meet again in the eternal life, we will forever treasure the time spent with you. We love you Anthony Michael Martinez.
