BETTY HOLLOWAY
SAN ANGELO ~ Betty Holloway, 74, went home to the Lord on Friday, September 9th, 2016 at a local hospital. There will be a memorial service at Lakeview Bible Church on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Flowers can be sent to the church or to the home. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home/Grape Creek
Betty was born in Cartersville, Oklahoma, but she was raised in Oroville, California, where she met her husband. Betty and Gary lived in Princeton, Kentucky when they were first married, but shortly after moved to Michigan, where they raised their children and lived for 30 years. Betty spent 30 years as the office manager at American General Life Insurance Company. In 1996 Gary and Betty retired and moved to San Angelo where they spent the remainder of Betty's life. Betty loved cooking, and decorating, and shopping with her daughter Debra, but more than anything, she loved being surrounded by family. Her happiest days were on the holidays, when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in her death by her parents, Ralph and Rethia Drummond; brother, Glen Drummond, and daughter Debra Etherton.
Betty was survived by her husband, Gary Holloway of San Angelo, sister Wanda "Sue" Drummond of California, son Dale Holloway of Odessa, grandchildren: Jason and his wife Brittany of Odessa, Josh and his wife Imani Etherton of San Angelo, Jessica and her husband Jacob of San Angelo, James Etherton of San Angelo, Jamie and husband Vince of Maryland, and Megan Holloway of Odessa, and six great grandchildren and various nieces and nephews
The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, nurse aides, and physical therapists and Shannon Medical Center, Shannon Dialysis, Shannon Home Health and Girling Home Health for the years of dedicated service to Betty and the family.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26
