On August 8, 2016 Anita S. Duarte went to be with our heavenly father and deceased loved ones after a short battle with lung cancer.
She was born on February 5, 1954 in San Angelo TX to the late Ignacio, Sr. and Augustina Duarte. She was loved by many and cherished by "ALL". She always lent a helping hand to all in need, was an excellent cook, wonderful friend, loving mother, caring sister, aunt, and grandmother and was the family’s foundation. She loved family gatherings and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Victoria Duarte, Virginia Espinoza, Belen Cruz, Bessie Dominguez, Besida Hernandez, Ismael Duarte, Isaias Duarte, Frank Duarte, Moses Duarte, Sr., Albert Duarte, William Duarte, Sr., Ignacio Duarte, Jr.; and a grandson, Alvaro Carrillo Jr.
She is survived by her siblings, Grace Prieto (Tony), Elma Garcia, Jackie Duarte, Martin Duarte (Terrie), Manuel Duarte, Sr. (Josie), Johnny Duarte, Sr. (Martha) and Isaac Duarte, Sr.; a son, Richard Duarte, Sr. (Kathy); two daughters, JoAnn Gonzales and Terry Duarte; grandchildren and spouses; Edward Crisp, Eric Crisp, Joey Anderson (Ashley), Elvira Carrillo, Amanda Ponce (Jose), Amber Duarte, Lauren Williams (Michael) and Richard Duarte, Jr. (Tiera) and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held all day Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the funeral home with rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
Pallbearers will be Danny Vigil, Tony Ybarra, Raymond Duarte, Valentine Ybarra, Moses Duarte Jr and Abraham Sanchez.
