Obituary for Daniel Lee Kinsley

Daniel Lee  Kinsley
Daniel Lee Kinsley, 80, went home to be with the Lord and his wife, Emilia on March 21, 2018. Visitation will be held all day Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the funeral home with family present from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Church of The Nazarene, interment will be in Rowena, TX. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
Dan was born in San Angelo, TX on July 24th, 1937 to William and Mary Kinsley. He graduated from Lake View High School where he was a star football player. He received a football scholarship from Angelo State University where he attended. He met the love of his life Emilia Hanz Kinsley and they were married for 53 wonderful years. Together they raised three daughters and one grandson.
Daniel worked for the city of San Angelo as a firefighter for 20 years. He worked for C & W Enterprises as a truck driver and marketing manager. After retiring, he opened his own business, delivering fuel to farmers. Dan was a devoted husband and father. He was a member of The First Church Nazarene and also attended Businessmen's Bible Class. He was a member of the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Lions Club.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Emilia Kinsley; parents, William and Mary Kinsley; brothers, Laddie, Ed, Buddy, Johny; and one sister, Betty.
Dan is survived by three daughters, Mary VanZandt of San Angelo, Tina Montez and husband Willie of Wall, Danetta Hoefer and husband Kevin of Gladewater, Tx; brother, Robert “Bob” Kinsley; special grandson, Daniel Vanzandt and wife Becky of San Antonio; grandchildren, Amber Lewis, Caleb and Michaela Montez, Haley Burkett, Hannah Wynne, and Holden Hedrick; and 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Diabetes Association.
