Obituary for Harold Dane Clendennen

Harold Dane Clendennen
Harold Dane Clendennen, 87, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Visitation will be all day Friday, October 6, 2017 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 1939 Sherwood Way, San Angelo with family present 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Lake View Bible Church, 321 W 49th Street, off Grape Creek Road, across from the Coliseum in San Angelo. Graveside services will follow in the Robert Lee Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
Harold Dane was born on November 2, 1929 to Verlan Margaret Graham Clendennen (an exceptional cook) and Roy Ernest Clendennen (a cowboy and hard-rock miner) in Hayden, Arizona, a copper mining town in the mountains of Gila County.
The second of four children, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald Clendennen of Tuscon, Arizona and Coy Neil Clendennen of Fredonia, Arizona; half siblings, Lisa Mae Clendennen Whitehurst Gibson of Phoenix, Arizona, Goldie Clendennen Cannon of Amarillo, Texas and Ernest Anderson Clendennen of Robert Lee, Texas.
He is survived by his sister, Oneta Beth Clendennen Singleton of Tuscon, Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
Harold served proudly in the Air Force as a crew chief on a B-36 bomber during the Korean conflict and was very proud of his commitment to his country. After his discharge, he landed in the Concho Valley where he met and married the love of his life, Edith Lou Bradley Clendennen. Edith and Harold enjoyed 60 years of devotion to each other and had four children. Edith preceded her husband in death and is now reunited with him again in Heaven.
Harold is survived by his son, Darrell and wife Janice of Justin, Texas; daughter, Dana Keena of San Angelo; son, David of San Angelo; and son, Dwayne and wife Raine; and grandsons, Dane Andrew and Luke Riley of Buda, Texas.
Donations may be made to Hospice of San Angelo in lieu of flowers.
